Q & A with Terry Doloughty
Why did you decide to go into business?
It was mostly a survival strategy. I had some bad experiences as an employee in my life, and I never wanted to repeat those experiences. Gaining freedom and control of my future were my objectives when I made this decision.
What business book has influenced you the most?
Perhaps it’s not a business book per se, but a book entitled “Your Money or Your Life” by Vicki Robin. It made me see that working too hard for too many hours was not the best path. This book taught me to think strategically about the value and investment of time.
What is your guilty pleasure at work?
Writing on the walls! Capturing concepts, calendars, and lists on big white boards helps me to think more creatively and productively. The tactile element helps me to focus.
If you had a magic wand, how would you use it?
What makes you think I don’t already have one?
